I chose working with texts and mediating within and between languages as my profession.

Translation
Written transfer of a text from one language system to another, usually with the help of special computer programs (CAT tools).
Interpreting
Live spoken translation between different languages, which can be done simultaneously or slightly delayed (consecutive).
Editing and proofreading
Checking written texts for spelling and grammar mistakes and, if requested, revising coherence, style, cultural appropriateness, etc.
Pricing
How much will be charged for a language service depends on many factors, such as length, technicality and quality of the text,
deadline, supplementary material, etc.
It is therefore rather difficult to estimate a price before seeing the text in question. Generally, I allign my rate with the ones
commonly applied in the Austrian market as suggested by data gathered regularly by UNIVERSITAS Austria.

German philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein once said. These limits keep shifting as languages are constantly changing, and with them their dialects, semiotic systems, and cultural idiosyncrasies. It can be hard to keep up.
Personal information
Ever since my childhood, language has been my passion.
I was born and raised in the mountains of Carinthia, Austria. My love for languages stems from growing up in my parents' hotel business. Already as a small child, I met people with various cultural backgrounds, speaking different languages. I observed how they tried to communicate despite all the misunderstandings that would arise and I wanted to help.
In school, I excelled in language subjects, which is why, immediately after high school, I went to Spain for a few months before starting to study at the University of Vienna. Throughout all the years as a university student, I was able to support myself working various jobs from skiing instructor to salesperson in a tobacco shop. Learning and gaining new experience in many different areas has always been important to me.
My translation experience includes but is not limited to tourism, marketing, educational and scientific texts and websites. With my holistic approach to every translation project, I am happy to support you with individually tailored solutions for your texts to be translated – verbally or in writing.
